I am so excited about this new kit coming out at Scrapmatters. It is called Tropical Float

I love the colors so much! The fun elements are perfect. Maybe I will finally scrap our Mexican Vacation. . . or maybe we should take a new vacation just to be able to scrap the photos using THIS kit!

Jady Day is having a contest for a guest CT! I want to be on her team SOO badly, that I bought the first kit I have paid money for in over a year just to be able to participate in the contest. I did this page with her kit "My girl" and her template.

I just joined the ScrapMatters GIRLS! Which means I get to go look at everyone's layouts and leave lots of lovely comments for them (I basically will take time to write all the things I think when I look through the gallery). As part of this job I get to show you all of the new collabs from the scrapmatters team. Here is the one from April. It is called Up, Up and Away.

Calendar Toppers

Lest you think I've given up my scrap addiction, let me show you what I've been working on. It was a surprise gift for my in-laws that ended up taking over 3 months to complete. (I guess having a newborn makes it hard to get things done). My parents in law are leaving for an 18-month mission in Germany. I wanted to give them something of us to take with them. So I designed a calendar topper for each month they will be gone. These are just the toppers, but I printed it with the calendar part below (complete with pictures on birthdays and anniversaries). It was a fun project and I got to use alot of different kits, alphas, and elements. I will get to displaying some of them later. For now, see what I've been up to . . .

The contest just ended at the end of May and I am exhausted. I completed 67 layouts in one month and won lots of participation prizes. I ended up in the top 30% of people (although the top poster did 200 Layouts!)

Counting Book

My son just learned to count. He loves books that have pictures of objects he can name and count. He doesn't like book full of many images or cluttered. I took pictures of his favorite toys for a counting book. Although this doesn't have alot of scrapping style to it, it accomplishes my purpose of clean, simple and familiar for my son.

Journaling reads: One of the most frustrating days of your life was one of the funniest for me!. You LOVE getting in & out of little coupe cars. When you found this little car at grandmas, you knew exactly what to do . . . open the door and hop right in! But there was a slight problem . . . you were so determined you tried for over 20 mins to get in.

I have improved my scrapping skills enough to be allowed to create for a couple of designers. I am really excited about this.
